Ventura County vs Los Angeles County
Hey everyone,
I am not getting a good vibe for Los Angeles County so I am looking into other counties as well. Any opinions and comments on best places to live in Ventura County are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
TR

Where do you live now?
Why do you want to move?
What line of work are you in?
Where are you going to work?
What type of home to you want to live in?
What type of neighborhood do you want to live in?
What is your budget for rent or housing price range?
Married?
Kids?

What do you mean youre not getting a good vibe in LA county?
LA country is so huge you can practically get any "vibe" you can imagine.
What are you looking for? Have you been to LA before? If so, what areas?

I will be working in Studio City commute is not a problem I can do up to 2 hours each way. I stayed in Woodland Hills for 2 years and moved out of the state but work has brought me back. Married with Kids. An area that has no gangs, robberies, car theft etc...Definitely leasing!
Thanks,
TR

Two hours each way and you have kids?
Can you give us more information, like the answers to my other questions?
Working in Studio City and living in Ventura County is doable but it won't be the nicest commute, unless of course you can work odd hours like 6-3 or something like that.

Wow. A parent with 2 kids who would be willing to commute 2 hours for work . Why not just live in Studio City? There are many apartment buildings that you could lease. You can also look into Burbank as there are tons of apartment buildings there as well (look along Victory and Hollywood Way then go east towards the mountains.
Im still curious as to the "vibe" youre getting. Please explain.

They are teenagers can't risk putting them in a bad school. Yes I work "odd" hours so I can do up to 2 hours. I must have peace and quiet no noise of any kind unless its nature so if it has to be way out that is fine. Studio City is not a quiet area to me.
Thank you,
TR

You should really look into Burbank then. You have Burroughs High school, Burbank High School and Providence near St. Josephs Hospital and Disney. These schools are not LAUSD which some people seem to dislike.

There are so many postings here about I love LA but I don't like living around gangs, robberies, etc. Look folks, you can't have your cake and eat it too. What is the appeal for you to live here then? You say you love LA but not what it is? Do you know how silly that sounds?
You have to understand this is the second largest city in the United States. The more people you have, the more unsavory it becomes. It is just the facts of life. You know what LA is REALLY all about, yet you insist on living here to the extent that you are willing to drive 2 hours one way to work. That is just pure insanity.
There is not an abundance of jobs here, the population is growing by leaps and bounds, it is becoming more dirty and unsafe and yet you want to live here AND raise kids. If you want to raise kids and give them any kind of quality life, you need to get out of here.
