I'm voting against it. I abhor ballot measures that hide their true intent... to end rent control under the guise is eliminating eminent domain. UGH.

Well... since you asked... I'm very much in favor of Prop 98 and I urge everyone to read it and decide...

Several Threads have been started on 98... here is a link the largest:

http://www.city-data.com/forum/los-a...prop-98-a.html

Prop 98 is a broad property rights initiative that not only protects home owners from questionable Eminent Domain... , but also farms, ranches, business and churches...

Prop 98 also phases out Rent Control in the 15 areas where it now exists... If Prop 98 passes... it could very well take 30 years to fully implement because ALL existing Rent Controlled Tenants are protected for as long as they continue to live in their Rent Controlled unit.

Some of the anti- Prop 98 political ads are down right false... but political speech as protected so there isn't anything to do but urge each voter to read the Initiative and make a decision...

The Supreme Court in the Kelo Decision passed the buck and told States to enact Property Rights Laws and this is how 98 came to be...

The largest Tax Payer Group, Howard Jarvis Prop 13 organization is a sponsor...

I'm voting NO. If the landlords and real estate industry is behind it, then it's NOT a good thing for regular citizens.

I'm voting NO, and I'm trying to get every voter around me to vote NO as well. The leaders of this Trojan horse proposition are counting on low voter turnout to work in their favor.

??? Prop 99 enjoys the overwhelming support of the Real Estate Industry... it allows cities to continue using Eminent Domain to give property to Developers

ANYTHING sponsored by the Howard Jarvis people gets an immediate, "NO" from me. Prop. 98 is another Howard Jarvis initiative - transforming society into a rule by private landowners - Wasn't the European Feudal system all about that?

I'm a peasant at Heart and to me... being able to own the roof over my head is a big deal...

Only those with Land could vote under a Feudal System... not so here...

Taking away Private Property Rights is akin to a return to the Feudal System.

That's why it is important to vote Yes on 98 and No on 99
