Is this a good area? I'm looking at some apartments called the Tower at Hollywood Hills here. Thanks in advance.

I looked it up on a map. The area on Normandie between Hollywood Blvd. and Franklin is fairly nice - However, as I recall, there was a dismembered man in his fifties found in a dumpster on the intersection of Franklin and Western (walking distance away) last year.

No, I haven't heard any more stories about dismembered bodies, but anything is possible in Los Angeles.

Three of us were trapped in the elevator tonight, 4/29/09. The Manager "Dave" saiod he called the elevator company once the alarm bell brought to the stalled elevator. Then he left saying the repair man would be about 20 mins. He returned to say it would be another 35 minutes, and left again. Once the repair man finally arrived and pried the doors open so we could climb out he could not find the Manager to access the room for the elevator controls. The Fire Department arrived with two trucks, still no Manager. None of the residents knew in which apartment "Dave" lived, only somewhere on the third floor. There was no sign telling how to reach the Manager. The elevator repair man was about to leave without fixing the elevator when he was able lean against the unsecured elevator room in the basement next to the garage. Finally the Manager, "Dave" appears and has an attitude when questioned why he could not be located, and why he didn't stay with the trapped people until help arrived. If someone had a medical emergency in that elevator there would be a major lawsuit against the owner of the building and the Manager. This is such irresponsible behavior. That Manager was responsible for tenants and guests in his buidling and chose not to be available. The guy literally confirmed he was 3 floors up watching t.v. (with no way of locating him as the residents questioned said he was a "jerk "and didn't want people to know where he lives). Stay away from this place. P.S. Three different tenants were moving out this night, which tells you something!
