Hello, and afternoon I have a friend currently in tuba city who hates it there(takes forever to get an uber and everything closes early). She's looking to move to l.a. and wants to know what are some walkable and pedestrian friendly areas ? She doesn't own a car. And doesn't drive, if anyone would be able to help i would be very appreciative. Thank you, she's at this time planning on moving around the end of this month if anyone can also recommend a good hostel or site for looking for apartments.

Lots of neighborhoods and cities in LA county are walkable. She should plan on spending about $2000 for anything decent

Just curious, is your friend located in Tuba City, Arizona or Yuba City, California? As a general rule, most of the walkable neighborhoods are more centrally located with access to high frequency transit. For instance, on or near the Wilshire Boulevard corridor, which runs between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Some of the neighborhoods that come to mind include Koreatown, Fairfax, Mid-City, East Hollywood, Silverlake, Westwood, Sawtelle, and North Hollywood.

She can find relatively cheap apartments in Koreatown.
There are many multistory buildings.
It's difficult to park in the area, so it's beneficial for a person without a car.
