Default Since you work in Santa Monica

Have you considered Hawthorne, Lawndale or surrounding county areas? Many are duplexes or have "mother-in-law" cottages in the backyard, so in-laws you love would be ideal!

Also, at the Aviation Green Line Station, there is a Big Blue Bus that goes to Santa Monica, in case you'd like to commute and not use your car sometimes. There is also a local trolley in the city of Lawndale, and one of them conncects with the Green Line. It's great for local kids to get to the Galleria Mall.

If you are going to consider moving to Corona, I'd consider finding a job out there. It's very nice out there, too. But hotter, it's more desert than Santa Monica.

As far as transportation goes, there is an Amtrak station in Corona, but it doesn't go anywhere near Santa Monica or the Westside.

Or as someone else suggested, if you love Glendale, and it sounds like you do, why not sit pretty and keep looking and saving and when you find something ideal, it'll be on your terms!

Take a look at La Mirada. It has a considerable Hispanic population and was ranked recently on CNN/Money's best places to live.

It's mid-way between your relatives in Corona and your work in Santa Monica (33 miles in either direction).

I've never lived there, but always thought it a beautiful city when driving through.
