I was in Pomona for the L.A. county fair and it didnt seem bad. Its definitely in the suburbs and to me its more like the Inland Empire than L.A. county. What's your fear about danger? Most of us live perfectly safe in Los Angeles...its a matter of, if you're going to take part in crime or not. I have friends who live in South Central, Watts, and Inglewood and they'll advise you to 'stay away and you'll be okay'. Good luck though

Not to mention parts of the East Los Angeles region.

Well for the most part pomona is a good city..it has its gangs and crime like ANYWHERE ELSE, but it also depends on what part of pomona your talking about. In the Lincoln Park Neighborhood part of pomona its well kept historic homes, and of course in Ganesha Hills and Phillips Ranch is safer. Pomona is a poor city but it has lots of potential and alot of good hard working people living in it also. I used to go to GANESHA HIGH SCHOOL in West Pomona and people used to say all kinds of things about pomona schools and Pomona period but its just like anywhere else, its because pomona has a BAD IMAGE because of gangs and other things but pomona is a pretty decent city as long as you stay out of trouble.

Default Pomona=bad

Wow...I had to respond to this. I cannot believe people are defending this city. There is so much crime and violence. If you can access Daily Bulletin online, then check it out. There are some good parts, but the majority is dangerous. I would never suggest for someone to move to this city.

It has gangs and crime like every other city, but it isn't that bad.

Have to agree with acl021, stay out of Pomona, there are too many other places that are 10 times better close by and that's the truth!

If you stay near the University or the Fairplex, Pomona is a beautiful great city. If you go to anywhere else, especially downtown, it's a horrible poverty-ridden gang infested place you feel you need an armed guard to get through. Of course, I think the fact that a CHP officer was gunned down in front of the police station speaks for itself.

I grew up in Pomona and I feel like I'm stabbing the city in the back but I have to be honest - you can do better than Pomona.
