Here are some interesting tid bits.
- There are places in LA county that get more annual rainfall than downtown Seattle.
- There is a place way up by the Oregon border called the Warner Valley. Dryer than LA.
- If you took a photo of a typical street south of Ventura Blvd in Studio City, you'd be hard pressed to tell it apart from San Carlos or Belmont (Bay Area burbs that get about 25 in of rain per year)
- Santa Maria gets less rain than downtown LA
- Monterey barely gets more rain than downtown LA
- Downtown SJ gets about the same rain as downtown LA

Don't like your precip? Move a a few miles for something completely different. Ah ... microclimates ... LOL!

I like thunderstorms. They're fairly rare in Los Angeles. Same thing for snow. We get a bit of snow in the San Fernando Valley about once every couple decades.

Is it too dry? I've been to Vegas, and although I went there during November, I liked it.

I'm not too familiar with the L.A. climate, but I'm moving from Tampa, FL in July. Can't stand the insane heat here.

Climate sucking or not sucking is subjective. Some people love sun and nothing but sun. Others love rains and thunderstorms and cooler weather. Different strokes for different folks is what they say.

It's pretty dry here. It normally goes months at a time without any rain. Average rainfall is about 12" a year but we get years with half that, then one with double. We do get some humidity in August and September though. I flew home from Denver to OC last August and thought I'd landed in Texas when I walked out of the airport here.

Rain in the summer is just wrong. I couldnt stand it while living in NY and I dont miss the weather one bit.

And let's not forget about that gawd awful humidity that usually accompanies summer rain.

No thanks. I'll stick to our dry sunny beautiful summers.

Rain in the summer just means it is going to be humid as hell. I think that is the worst part of NJ summer. I think Milwaukee has much better summer weather than the Northeast because, while it is humid, it ain't as bad as NJ in the summer. It is actually quite pleasant.

This one is my favorite. People think that the Bay Area is WAY more rainy than SoCal in the winter, but seriously, San Jose's weather is basically the same as parts of LA. The only difference is that it is a little bit cooler day time highs in the winter and little bit cooler nights in the summer. Like 60 degree lows (like at 4:30am before the sun rises) in July in SJ versus LA being like 65 degrees.

I'm in the Valley now. Summers coming and I need to get out before its too late. I think LA beach city weather is perfect in the summer.
