Default E. Broadway in Long Beach

Hey guys,

Sorry for the boring housing questions :X Your help is really appreciated.

I'm currently thinking of renting a place on Orange Avenue between E. 3rd Street and E. Broadway... I've been reading some of the posts on here, and it seems like there are some shady areas in Long Beach kind of spread out. Would you say that this is one of them? I'm planning to either walk or drive & park at the Blue Line station on 1st Street; would it be dangerous to walk?

Thanks so much!!

i used to live in long beach on ocean bl betw cherry & hermosa. i would say that the area that you are talking about is a little creepy, espec if you are a young woman. if you go a few blocks eastward b'way (away fr downtown), the neighborhoods get better (more expensive too). if you go further northward from b'way, you are practically in tijuana. i will tell you though that you can save $$ by taking one of the "red buses" with a "transfer" to the blue line. it was well under $2 total when i lived there and picked up at cherry & ocean and left me at 1st and long bch bl to catch the blue line.
