Here is what Austin, Texas think of LA and Cali
More funny stuff....and come on people.....this stuff is supposed to be funny!
You Know You're In California if...
You make over $250,000 a year and still can't afford a house.
The fastest part of your commute is going down your driveway.
You know how to eat an artichoke.
The high school quarterback calls a time-out to answer his cell phone.
Your child's third grade teacher has purple hair, a nose ring, and is named Breeze.
You've been to a baby shower for an infant who has two mothers and a sperm donor.
You have a very strong opinion about where your coffee beans are grown, and can taste the difference between Sumatran and Ethiopian.
You know which restaurant serves the freshest arugula.
A really great parking space can move you to tears.
The guy in line at Starbucks, wearing the baseball cap and sunglasses who looks like George Clooney, IS George Clooney.
You live an hour away from Mountains but can't see them because of the smog.
Your car insurance costs as much as your house payment.
Your hairdresser is straight, your plumber is gay, and your Mary Kay rep is a guy in drag.
It's sprinkling out, and there's a report on every news channel about "THE STORM!"
Over 85% of the cities, towns, and streets start with San, Los, El, La, Santa, De La, or De Los.
A family of four owns six vehicles.
Everyone who lives here knows that hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and snowstorms are way worse than earthquakes, which are, after all, over almost as soon as you realize what's happening.
Even if the store is across the street, you drive there.
And finally, a question: Q. How many Californians does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A. None. Californians cannot afford to turn on the lights.

This is idiotic and rude. Yet parts of it are funny. Los Angeles is actually not that bad. Austin is getting really expensive. Plus people get paid more there on average and they have a higher minimum wage. But as you said it is meant to be funny so I guess if parts of it are fictitious than it maybe funny but if you actually consider all of it is real you have no idea what you are talking about. But some of it is kinda real. Idk what I think about this..

I have lived in LA County all of my life and I thought the original post was funny! Although it was meant to be a satire, some of the points are true. Despite all of our issues, I love So Cal and can't imagine living anywhere else!

I grew up in SoCal and love it too. I've seen that list before and found it funny also. Some of those points are true. My favorite is "It's barely sprinkling rain, and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH"."
I lived in Austin for a bit and while it was okay, it still underwhelmed me as far as things to do were concerned. True, the lakes and hills are nice, but I really miss being near mountains and ocean.

I agree. I can see where the OP thinks it's funny and I guess there are one or two but some of it is downright offensive, which takes away the funny.

I know it's supposed to be all in fun, but those "can't see the mountains because of the smog" jokes went out of style about 20 years ago.
I live about one hour from the higher ranges of the San Gabriel Mountains and they are visible most of the time (2nd photo):

Those are really nice pics....It's really amazing that in L.A you could escape to places like this if you wanted to be alone in a quiet and peaceful setting.

Yes, it is great that there are many areas like those in the photo only a short distance away from the city.
Those two photos I posted were taken in the "Garden of the Gods" area in what used to be Iverson Movie Ranch in Chatsworth.
