Just got a job in Santa Monica and looking for a one bedroom or studio up to $1600... I would prefer hardwood floors and nice ammenities. Any advice on how to find good apartments for this price range in the area?

If your in Los Angeles now, walk up and down the streets and call the rental office of each location. Several along 4th street, 5th street etc down to broadway. |

You should have no problem finding an apartment in that range in Santa Monica. I think the area east of Lincoln and south of Wilshire will be your best bet. If you're looking for the lowest possible rent, I would check along Ocean Park and Pico atleast a mile or so from the beach.
