some of you probably have never been to monterrey park. or san gabriel. plenty of non english speakers there. asian ones.

making generalizations is ridiculous. how do you really know what immigrants are willing to do or not do?

go to your local high school, check out the night classes and see who fills the seats of the english classes. or GED classes. then tell me latinos aint tryin to learn english or are not invested in education.

stop with generalizations people.

and again brown flight does happen. some mexicans dont like living next to central americans.

I don't need a history class. I saw the Mississippi gas stations with three restrooms and 2 drinking fountains with my own eyes. Those days are just that, history.

I actually had two racist remarks made to me yesterday by Asian people who were pretty sure that they were superior to all others. It doesn't sound good no matter who says it, does it? I look forward to the day when we can put all this race stuff behind us as a nation. Dunno if that day will ever come, but we can dream.

Just something to think about....maybe there is no (or very little) white flight. If the absolute number of whites remains about the same and the absolute number of blue people increase twenty fold then the whites become less of a percentage - even if they never left.

Say for example, in one particular square mile in 1940 there were 500 whites and 100 blue people. In 1980 in that same square mile there where 600 white people and 2000 blue people, what happened? The whites didn't go anywhere but they became the minority. Not saying that happened, but in discussing these changes, we have to be aware of what is really happening.

So, fine, that's your theory. How about backing it up with facts instead of supposition?

By facts I mean demographic statistics.
