Wink Working in El Segundo Where to live?

My husband is being transfered to El Segundo from VA. We want a nice family friendly (white picket fence) neighborhood within a 45 min drive to El segundo. my dream is to live in one of the beach towns but my husband prefers the suburbs. his dream is to live in thousand Oaks but that is too far. any suggestions on where to live.

thanks!
Dana

I second that! El Segundo feels like a sleepy small town dropped into big LA. Depends on your price range too.

I'm going to guess your husband is in aerospace/government work and will be working on the east side of Pacific Coast Hwy. There is a bedroom community on the west side of PCH that is the heart of El Segundo. If you can afford it, it has everything that you mention. Low crime . . . Good schools . . . Easy access to freeways . . . and 5 mins from the Beach. Mayberry by the Sea. Commute is 5-10 mins depending on where he's working.

Direct message me if you'd like more info.

you can check out areas like westchester, torrance(select areas), manhattan beach, culver city(select areas).. some of the more upscale areas with an accessible commute would be parts of san pedro(closer to western/palos verdes), palos verdes, and rolling hills

if you can afford it, the tree section of manhattan beach is VERY nice and white-picket-fence-like. family friendly, safe, etc.. - also only a 5-10 minute drive to el segundo

a further drive is the south torrance area, with nice homes, lots of families, very safe too

remove la mirada from your list, that is way too far of a commute to and from el segundo.
