Hawthorne,apartments-AREA INFO NEEDED (Gardena, Culver City: rental, DMV, gangs)

any info on "safety" known gangs area? etc. (compared to places like Van Nuys, or Gardena, I can't afford Culver City) I'm only familiar with the valley area.

Kornblum is on the very west edge of Rollin 130s Crips turf. Theyre real small, but like any gang they do cause problems. On the plus side, theres no gangs that I know about immediatly south, west, or north of your street, however I dont know about alot of hispanic gangs so there might be someone Im missing.
In my opinion this area is safer than both Gardena and Van Nuys.

Are there any "nicer" parts of hawthorne, or is it all the same? I prerfer not to spend more than $900 for rent.

Try looking in the Hollyglen(sp?) area bordered by El Segundo Blvd on the north, Aviation Blvd on the west, 405 on the east and Rosecrans to the south. I don't know how many rental units fall in this area, but it's a reasonably good area.
