Maybe you should try the many nice restaurants and bars we have in this neighborhood until you find a job with longer commitment. Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood!

You should try the new grove in Glendale. There are tons of new shops opening and hiring. There are also music stores and book stores in Hollywood. Get out and pound the pavement.

You could try getting some tattered clothes and particularly tattered shoes, make yourself some creative signs, and beg for change on Los Feliz Blvd at either Griffith Park or Franklin. Griffith Park would probably be better, since the volume of cars going in and out is crazy. An alternative would be the offramp off the 5 at Los Feliz.

Beggars/panhandlers at prime spots like that allegedly make decent coin, over $10 an hour I've heard.

Default Just don't have the qualifications.

I don't think I have the crushed soul required for the position. Great idea for the permanently disenfranchised and the few blessed survivors left from Reagan's emancipation of the severely disturbed from their hospitals way back when. However, I still cling to my dream of joining the vestigial rank of the lower middle class. Just a dreamer I suppose.

Last I looked Mexico City on Hillhurst (next door and across the parking lot from Louise's Trattoria) had a Help Wanted sign in the window. It would be a decent place to wait tables until you find something else.

Focus on what you want and go after it. You sound like you're going in a bunch of different directions. There's more opportunity here than you're used to. Go for it.

They make more than that if they're around a bleeding heart like me! Last time I was at that offramp the panhandler drove off in my brand new 4Runner and I ended up holding the sign!
