Default Best Route from LAX to Staples Center

Hi Everyone:

I love this forum! Everyone was such a big help when I wanted to move from Chicago to Long Beach. Unfortunately that did not work out and I'm back in Cleveland for the time being. Anyway... I need to get to the Staples Center for an LA Sparks game in a few weeks. We are flying in to LAX and renting a car. What is the best way to get to the game and is it safe to park around the Center?

I have mapquest directions but I just wanted to ask as you may know a safe place to park or a better suggestion. I don't have alot of money to pay for a cab there and back to pick up the car so...I'm willing to pay the parking fee.

One last thing, is it best to just use mapquest or should I get a GPS with the rental?

Thank you for your help!

Take the 105 Freeway East to the 110 Freeway North. Get off the freeway at Olympic Blvd. There are plenty of pay parking lots around Staples Center.

streetscenes is right. It's a pretty straight shot to Staples so you shouldn't need a GPS.

If you can wait until 2018, you can catch the Crenshaw Light Rail line which will let you off 500 feet from Staples Center.

Depends on the time of day. 105 to 110 is the most direct. But traffic can be really bad.

If you feel comfortable doing it, I used to take Normandie to Pico during rush hour to get up to that area. But you would be going through some rough neighborhoods.
