Default Chinatowns in the greater LA area

I'm a 20-something Chinese person and I'm looking for an area similar to Valley Blvd. in San Gabriel. It should have a vast selection of Chinese restaurants and businesses all densely packed. I've looked at Rowland Heights and Chino Hills but they're too family-oriented for my tastes. Anyone got suggestions for areas similar to San Gabriel, Alhambra, Monterrey Park, etc., especially in the OC (since I haven't looked there much yet.) Thanks.

What's wrong with the Alhambra, Monterrey Park area? It sounds like it has what you want and its nicer and cleaner than LA's Chinatown. I live in OC and my wife's Chinese (US born) and when we get in the mood for dim sum, we head up to Monterrey Park. There's really nothing at that level down here. In OC, you'll find the most Chinese people in Irvine but if you didn't like Rowland Heights or Chino Hills, you'll hate Irvine.

I had a chance to vidit both Alhambra, Monterrey Park and looks nice and clean for the most part. I am thinking of moving around the LA area. The only thing I don't like about Alhambra, Monterrey Park is its too hot. I was also thinking OC, Irvine but haven't had a chance to visit those areas so far.

Irvine is probably little cooler than those areas but it still pretty warm. You've got to be real close to the water (like less than 5 miles with no hills in the way) to stay cool.

There's good Chinese food in Laguna Beach [though a little pricey]. Can't get any cooler than right-on-the-beach restaurants. But to get the best Chinese food you’ve got to go where many Chinese live = San Gabriel valley.

You could move to Chinatown itself. It's located just north of the 101 and just west of the Union Station near Downtown LA.

thanks, being that I am in my mid 30's I don't care to live in an area where its boring and nothing to do. Easy to meet people and enjoy good job. Its all going to depend on where I can find a job in what I do so just have to wait I guess.
