Where I was, it just felt like the a/c unit on the roof had started up . The ceiling usually shudders when it does that. I realized it wasnt when the room started to move. I got the 2 kids together and stood in the doorway til it was over, which was literally 10 - 20 seconds.

We had a class outing today at Manhattan Beach, and I was sitting on the sand eating a sandwich when the earthquake supposedly happened, but I didn't notice anything. I heard a bunch of people talk about it immediately after but I personally didn't feel a thing. Maybe I'm just numb? What a bummer-- I have always wanted to know what an earthquake feels like! I'm only here another 9 more months so I hope I didn't blow my chance.

I felt it in Burbank. To me it was between 5 and 10 seconds and everything shook. Scary!

My very first earthquake. Felt it in USC. Colleague from Greece was with me when the third-floor room started to shake. You would think a Greek would be used to earthquakes but this was actually his first time too, lol. Took us a few seconds of rattling to realize what was really going on after which my friend dove under his desk and I followed suit. When the shaking stopped we scooted out of the building, freaked out. We then proceeded to have lunch.

Poor Tony missed it while he was out vacationing at taxpayer's expense. Imagine his feeling of utter dread knowing Wendy got the chance at hosting the press conferences. If the Concorde was still around, you could bet Villar would be on it headed back to L.A. and hoping for aftershocks.

Oh. Sorry. I didn't know we had to be that specific. When you go to New England do you say you are going back NorthEast or just back East. Do people from New England saying they are going out Southwest or just West?
