I would hope that it is because I would love to move there one o these days.

I don't think it's worse & I don't think it is better [in other words, unacceptable]. Unfortunately the state is broke & funding for summer jobs was cut. Best antidote for gangs is going to work.

if you stay out of the bad areas, you will be fine.

Compared to the last few years ? no
alot of people from the 1990's are getting out of prison .

I'm pushing 40 and have never personally seen any gang violence here. I generally don't hang in the worst parts of town where this usually occurs, gang member to gang member.

I live in Santa Clarita and they are moving up here, I see more of them and graffiti is getting worse up here too, it wont be too long and this will suck as bad as the rest of LA county.
