You must have really crashed and burned in LA to constantly feel the need to put it down. I feel sorry for you... but there's no need to ruin the forum for the rest of us with you incessant negativity.

You're right there's no need for people to hear both sides of the story. They come to the forum just to hear the Chamber of Commerce version of Los Angeles.

There's a difference between constructive criticism and "LA is cesspool." Especially when you take the poster's posting history into account. I'm all for debate... but it should at least have some substance.

My first visit to downtown LA, I came in from north-by-northeast of downtown and passed right through the Skid Row area. That was pretty cesspool-ish. I was kinda in shock. Those people and their penniless lifestyle don't scare me per se, it was just kinda like, wow, this is downtown Los Angeles, California?

The parts that didn't look like a cesspool, well, they looked just like Tijuana. Some would say that's just more cesspool. (Hey now, I didn't say it!)

You are so right ! I have said this before, Their are many places in in Los Angeles and SoCal you think you crossed over the border and didn't know it. And their places in Los Angeles that are worse than Tijuana.
And some people can't understand why Los Angeles is called a cesspool.

Have you people ever traveled out of California? Every major city has their ghettos. I've personally seen them in Detroit, Philadelphia and Orlando and driven though many other cities ghettos along highways on cross-country trips. Isn't it crazy that even Disneyfied Orlando has ghettos? And plenty of them along with tons of sketchy areas with homeless people on their bicycles filled with their personal possessions. Of course you won't see them when you get off the plane and head over to Disney.

It's a shame you dwell on it so much and paint such a broad picture to newcomers on the boards that LA is a cesspool. But then again, we have the same types on the Orlando boards that do the same thing there.
