Cincon: where did you work in Eagle Rock? I know the area fairly well and can't think of any bad areas, aside from some parts off Meridian which is more Highland Park than Eagle Rock. I guess I never stumbled upon it. I have to agree with lesllimc that ER's location is pretty perfect, wedged between Glendale and Pasadena.

Eagle Rock is an excellent location. The properties are nice, especially in the hillsides (old los Angeles), and the location is perfect. Close to Glendale, Los Feliz, Pasadena.

There are nice shops and things to do, and the price is still rather right.

Of course crime is everywhere, however there is not that much crime in Eagle Rock that would make someone not want to live there.

We just moved to Eagle Rock after being priced out of Silver Lake -- though we're closer to hip replacement than hip -- and so far we're loving it.

yes, and La Crescenta is probably more expensive and a little further away from the action.

I think Eagle Rock has always been a pretty good place to live. Sure, there are iffy areas, even 50 years ago the areas bordering on Highland Park were not all that great, but overall it is a great location and a good place to live..What is better than being situated between Glendale and Pasadena?

I like the housing stock there and the variety of constructions and landscaping. One place I saw had some of the best original construction hard wood flooring I've ever seen. It also had a nice deep lot. Admittedly, heading down the hill southward one gets rapidly into some sketch hoods, but by the same token it's the opposite effect heading eastnortheast toward downtown Pasadena.

Eagle Rock rocks. If it were convenient for me to live there I'd do it in a heartbeat.
