that seems like a killer deal. do you mind telling me the apartment name? i would like to google map it to see if the neighbor hood is actually good or not.
though that seems rather cheap...too cheap. but i'll check it out.

Well,
The South Bay is my home town and I have lived in all those cities or still have friends that do. Torrance is a good bet. I would look there first, then Lomita.
There are deals to be had but because the area is so popular the best places go really 'Fast!' So whatever you see that is hanging around for a while in the DailyBreeze or on Craigslist is most likely a dive. A lot of the best places will also be rented via word of mouth. For example in our last really nice 4-plex in Torrance an opening came up and I told a buddy about it at work. He came down, met the manager, signed the papers and got the place.
We also managed apartments in the South Bay for a while so I can tell you from a manager's perspective the applicant with the best credit and references wins. There are other factors that come into play of course, but those are the two big ones. A steady job also helps.

you could probably find something in torrance (not all neighborhoods are great, so be careful where in Torrance) or in north redondo beach - and possibly even east manhattan beach. a couple other sites you might try to find info are: westsiderentals.com and southbaychat.com - good luck!
