Default 4TH STREET, Long Beach, CA 90802 safe?

Hello all,
I'm a newbie to this forum and I hope to get some help from you. I'm checking out a new property to live in and this one locates on 4TH STREET, Long Beach, CA 90802 (between Walnut & Nebraska). I want to know if the area is safe or not?

Thanks much!

MrVo

It's an "ok" part. It can be extremely crowded (Florida St. below has to be the most narrow street ever) and parking is absolutely horrific. If you find something on 4th St., between Redondo and Park is much nice. Long Beach has a lot of affordable housing, so I always tell people not to settle. keep looking. I think you can find better. It's safe, but just not the nicest area and I'm sure you could find a nicer area for the same price. Cheers!

4th St. is a major bus line from downtown. 4th & Florida, and the area around it, has several half-way homes.

I agree between Redondo and Park is nice, but the parking can be horrible, unless you find a place with a garage.

True. Anywhere south of 7th St. is going to cause parking problems. I lived near CSULB and it was wonderful. I lived 10th/Ximeno. The high school kids by Wilson were a pain the arse, but there was parking included and we had a wonderful condo. Very safe, quiet, close enough to everything. I had forgotten about 4th being a major busline. Good point.
