Aliso Viejo hands down. Nice new community - good schools, clean environment. Large selection of nice homes & apartments. No crime to speak of. Close to shopping and freeways. 20 minutes to Irvine (using toll road - maybe 30 minutes on the freeway at peak times). Only 15 minutes to Laguna Beach but 1/2 the price. Lots of parks, bike trails, etc. Town Center has good shopping, restaurants, movies, etc. Overall, its a really pleasant place to live. I lived there for 10 years & moved to a more up-scale gated community, but I would move back in a heartbeat. Laguna Beach also has good schools, shopping, beaches, and nightlife, but is so expensive! Irvine is similar in lifestyle to A.V., but a little more expensive. Good luck.

I AGREE. Aliso Viejo is an excellent choice! Very quiet, safe, and friendly community. Very little traffic.

Pasadena does have gangs, but what's left of the Black Panthers aren't exactly something to worry about. They're about as threatening today as the John Birch Society is. We're not talking about Oakland in 1968.

I agree. Black Panthers, I think they are old enought to be my father Second, I would pick Aliso Viejo because it would not be a bad commute from Irvine and I think you would adjust nicely! I am biracial myself and I think this would be the better choice Take Care, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask! Just PM me!

Best of Luck to you!

Here's another vote for Aliso Viejo, for all the reasons cited above by newportbeachsmostwanted. If I still worked in Irvine, this would be an area I'd be looking to live in.

Aliso Viejo is really beautiful. I've heard more people say Aliso Viejo. Are you guys also voting for it too? For some reason, Laguna Beach is still ahead. And only about 2 people voted for Aliso Viejo. Even though about 5 said its the best choice.

The Black Panthers! I've only heard about them in black comedies! Are they even a gang now? Or more like the ghetto version of the NAACP? lol. The KKK on the other hand, that would be something to be scared about. ;-)

Don't start singing Hillary Duff's theme to Laguna Beach just yet!...

This is $1.2 million. 700sq ft., 2br cottage on the eastside of PCH w/ no view, and the lot size(1800sq ft) is too small for even a lucrative tear-down.

What the heck?? That's weird. I looked at about 5 websites and I found apartments bigger than that at cheaper prices!
