And don't forget - those ghetto houses are priced at $199K while we're in the middle of a housing bust. A year or two ago, they would have been at least $299K.

My suspicion is that someone in the loop on this forclosure found some neighborhood kids and gaven them $50 and a case of beer and said "Go have a paint party." Easy way to get the bank to sell at a deep discount to a friend of this "person in the know." Besides the art work I din't notice much other damage (like broken windows, burned flooring, missing fixtures, etc.) that you often find in these kinds of properties.

when my family moved out of our house in(at the time) a rough part of bellflower the day after we moved out someone broke in and tagged the whole place up inside and out.
things happen sometimes

The second home I posted had an identical one sell for 349k a year and a half ago. Good 'ol Long Beach.

$200,000? Ha ha! If you would consider a 1 bedroom condo in a somewhat ok area, then maybe.... It's depressing, I go back and forth on moving out of California. But I am a California girl, and I don't like cold weather. But if I continue to live here, I will probably never buy a home. (too expensive).
