I am a college freshemn looking to begin classes at LACC in the fall of 2009. I am currently living in Grand Rapids, MI and I am planning to make a move to CA sometime next summer. I don't have much sense of the area but I am extremely innovative and I believe I will do well on my own. I survived in Charlotte, NC for a couple years, though im sure it isn't anything like LA. How much $ should I consider for a move of that magnitude. Good housing? I need answers on all of the stupid questions everyone asks when they consider moving to a new spot. Is there anyone reading this that has done this and maybe could offer a few suggestions.

Thank you

Everything you've asked has been answered over and over on this forum. The search tool is very good. You'll need to post more specifics to get more specific answers. For example, what's your rental budget? Will you have a car? What kind of job will you have?

Have you already been accepted to the school? Do you have financial aid or will you be working your way through school? A move for college reasons is a little different from moving for a job, so how do you plan to support yourself during school?

It's expensive out here. You want a plan and a backup plan.

is LACC community college? I think you pay more if you're not a resident. Your best bet is to find some roomates.
