Default New Job In Rosemead

I got a new job in Rosemead but I currently live in Northridge, CA. My former job was in downtown LA and, personally, I didn't consider the commute all that bad. We have a family of 4 and live in Northridge because it's close to my parents. I am debating whether to make the commute to Rosemead from Northridge or possibly move closer to areas like La Canada or South Pas. If we do move, what are areas close to Rosemead that are safe and with good schools.

Further, if I don't move, what is the most efficient route to take...I live off the 118.

For moving, our budgets are upwards to high 700K.

Thanks,

Alhambra has good schools, good safety, beautiful Craftsman and Spanish houses, a walkable downtown, and plenty of houses in your price range. Stay north of Main Street for the nicest houses and neighborhoods.

The northern part of San Gabriel is similar but the houses are from a different era. Again, stay north of Las Tunas. The houses are nicer and the yards bigger.

Temple City is said to have good schools, but I am not too fond of the appearance of that city. If you like single-family homes with yards, Temple City is going another direction. It looks safe and prosperous, though.

Schools in Alhambra are not that good, worst thing is no middle schools. Primary schools are K through 8th and then it's high school. 7th and 8th graders just don't belong with the little ones. San Gabriel schools are a little better and Temple City does have good schools. If you like Northridge you would probably like Temple City. Other good school districts in the area are Arcadia and South Pas.

How close are you to the 118? I would take the 118 to the 210 and take Rosemead Blvd South. A few more miles on the 210 but alot less traffic.
