So, I'm a huge fan of beer. I've been to the Oktoberfest parties at Alpine Village in Torrance and Old World in Hungtington Beach and have had a great time. I guess there is also a good one up in Arrowhead. Anyways, I realized a few weeks ago that there is a German American Club down the street from my apartment in Santa Monica, so I started to get excited. I can't find any info on the place on the internet though. Has anyone heard of this place and know if they have any festivities for Oktoberfest? I don't mind going down to Torrance, but it is pretty far and it's hard to find a sober driver for the ride home.

If it's just down the street from you, why don't you go there in person and ask them? Or I suppose you could simply make a phone call.

There's also supposed to be an Oktoberfest at the LA Mart on Oct 10th. Goldstar is offering discounted tickets. The ticket price includes unlimited food and drinks, according to goldstar.

Hope that helps.

I think that the Los Angeles Turners have an Oktoberfest, but I don't think it's in Santa Monica.

Here's their 2009 calendar, and it seems that Santa Monica hosts Thanksgiving and a dinner-dance, but not an Oktoberfest.

I don't know if their events are members only, or are open to the public.
