In Los Angeles , they have bulit a huge foreign comic book store (mostly Asian and European stuff) and they are planning on painting a giant mural on the outside (about 20 meters by 10 meters) It shows Asterix (little French warrior) punching out a Greek discus thrower. Anyways, there are some peple who are protesting against it, saying it is way too violent. What do you think?

Huh, weird. To me it doesn't seem as bad as some of the movie billboards.

It's not that it's too violent. It's so busy a picture that you have to stare at it for awhile to determine what's happening. In my experience, not a good piece of advertising.

It is violent...for some reason the focus is on two aspects of the picture

1. The impact of the punch explodes a stones discus in the guy's hand

2. Showing the guy's toes spread apart and twitching is overly cruel

Mainly it's just ugly and for that reason alone I'd be pissed if I had to look at it every day on the side of a building.

But then, I'm pissed at most things I have to look at when I drive around these days.

I think it's violent. Murals usually uplift a community. I wouldn't want to look at this mural every day.
