I live in HIFI (historic fillipino town) on the east side. Over the past month and a half there have been numerous stabbings, a armed gunman hostage situation, police helicopters looking for a suspect with their speakers blaring to stay inside of our houses, and a couple shootings.

My neighborhood doesn't begin to compare with Rio - a city where the police are armed with automatic assault rifles, and the criminals aren't small time punks but drug lords, with lots of henchman with even bigger guns. Rio is more akin to many parts of Africa in the 80's, practically a warzone.

That being said I love the East side and paying 450 / month for rent in a 3 bedroom, hard wood floor, full kitchen, balcony condo is fantastic. West side is far too pretentious and white. I like being the only white guy in the hood, and I love latinas. If you want a whitebread community go up to Minnesota (hey big surprise, I have time right now to write this post since I'm back in MN, and not working or going out 7 nights a week... interesting... )

Anyways - I've blathered on enough, the moral of the story is that you're wrong.

Just another misconception about L.A. Yes, people are thinner here than say, the South (the fattest people in our nation), but most people aren't stick thin. I'm moving to the south so don't get mad at me for stating the truth!

There is more of a correlation between thin (attractive women) and high median income than there is thin (attractive women) and location. The ugliest women in the wealthiest parts of Alabama are better looking than the prettiest women in the poorer parts of LA.

Tight butts get rich husbands.
A man will marry the best looking woman he can afford.
