Hi,

Anyone know of a television/film production company that pays for possible re-locations to California if hired by them? I'm currently in NY but I don't know anyone in California but would like to get more experience in my field.

If someone could send me names of companies they know have been known to pay for relocation costs for their employees that would be great!

Thanks in advance

They don't have to pay to relocate people, because there are already thousands of people here willing to work those jobs (and for low-ish pay at that).

The only way you'll get paid for relocation is if you become a high level executive, a super star talent or attach yourself to someone who is relocating who thinks highly enough of you to bring you along. Otherwise, you need to come to LA on your own dime.

Yes, in order to get relocation a company has to either personally know you and want you, you have to already be working for that company in another location, or you have to have specialized skills and/or education the company can't get locally. Why would a company pay to relocate someone when the supply is down the street.

Holy crap you're innocent!

You making them a lot of money = you being paid to relocate....

Until then..... shag ass out here on your own dime and join the cattle calls like the rest of them. If you even get that far.

You need to come out here and wait tables for four or five years. It's like the line you have to get into.

Troll alert.

Oh, I have. Definitely. Not in the entertainment industry though - more like upper-level tech positions and such.
