Hello, I found these forums to be one of the most helpful sources of information so far, so I figured I would post my situation, and ask for some help.

So, I am looking to move to LA, and attend the Art Institute of California - Los Angeles, which is located in Santa Monica (2900 31st Street). Now, originally I was planning to attend their school in San Francisco, which is where I am right now actually, I came to check it out, and do not like the area the school is in, nor the quality of the school housing, or their location.

My major question is, since I really want to stay away from the school housing, as it appears to be total crap no matter which of their schools you attend, can anyone suggest an area for me to look for an apartment? I am a college student, so I don't have incredible amounts of money to spend.

Thanks for any help guys

Santa Monica and the surrounding area is pretty expensive. Probably the cheapest, close area is Palms or Culver City. Look to spend at least a 1000 there.... Santa Monica is probably closer to 1300-1400.

I don't exactly how spread out things are down there, how close would that be, in driving terms approximately? I wouldn't mind driving a little extra, if it meant I would save money on an apartment.
