Yes. Average temps for September are 80's downtown & low 90's in the valleys.

The marine layer isn't "normal" for this time of year, but it happens on occassion. Usually you don't start seeing this type of weather until mid october. Last year it was gloomy all the way to mid august and then was hot from then until halloween if I remember(first few weeks of september were terrible.. remember my son playing pop warner football in orange county and it was about 115 on the field). Just varies really. Since the tropical storms off of Baja are gone it will be a lot more mild more often. September and October still have plenty of opportunity for heat waves though.

Yea. I put all the windows down and drove up Laurel Canyon-Mulholland-Coldwater and back down the hill. It was sooo nice. Lots of fog sitting in the valleys looked great from up top.

Nice and cool all day! love it! Especially here in the Alhambra area where it's usually hot. I think tomorrow it will get warm up again.

It has felt wonderful here for the past couple of days. I've actually felt a little chilly at night! (Can you tell I'm a native Southern Californian? )

Back in Summer 1995, I was 9 mo pregnant and it had to have been the hottest Summer ever . That how I think of September now. I am glad some cool weather is starting. We really havent had that bad of a heat wave this summer .

Today looks like a repeat of yesterday [it is still overcast & I live near Pasadena where it is normally sunny & getting hot by now]. 70's appear to be the maximums again today but warmer starting tomorrow. Don't we live in paradise? absolute best weather in the country! [esp seeing all the damage from Hurricane Ike in Texas

This was a really nice summer with hardly any heat waves [typically warm and a little humid at times. Need A/C most days but rarely after sunset when we open the entire house & let the evening breeze blow thru all night. Didn't use any air conditioning yesterday
