Train Wreck
An Oxnard commuter train and a Union Pacific freight train crashed in Chatsworth this afternoon. So far, at least six people are known to have died. My prayers go out to those who have been injured and those who have lost family members.

I was on Devonshire in Northridge a little while ago and while waiting at a light 6 police cars ran the light and were flying down the street, then when I got home I noticed News and Hospital helicopters flying in the same direction. This is horrible. My thoughts are with the families.

Positive thoughts and prayers for the families of those effected by the tragedy. With a special prayer that the death toll doesn't go any higher.

It's hard to believe something like that can happen with all the communications, electronics, computer monitoring systems, safety procedures, spacing rules, etc.

I understand that the Metro crashed into another train or visa versa. This is the second really bad train wreak in as many yrs. The trial of the guy responsible for the train crash in Glendale was recently sentenced to life in prison. Sounds like today's crash was accidental.

Unfortunately, they've announced that there are over 20 dead and over 100 injured.

I SAW several fire SUVS, ford crown vics with lights heading north on the 405 at 5pm, right before they would have hit the 118W. Now I know why...so tragic.

For anyone who lives locally and was wondering if there was anything that can be done to help, the local TV news mentioned that blood is needed at some of the local hospitals, such as UCLA, where the victims of the train crash are being treated for their injuries.

Wow, sounds like it was worst than the Glendale train crash; that's horrible & scary. We regularly take the Coastliner to visit family in Rancho Peñasquitos\San Diego & the train hits speeds of 90 MPH
