Does anyone know of any dealer that specializes in older classic cars from the 1950s-1970s? I am not looking for anything showroom, but solid, rust free, original southern LA cars.

Someone said there were some dealers in LA that specialized in older cars at fair prices, but I have been unable to locate them online.

I did a search on Craigslist and have found tons of cars, but its hard to tell who is for real these days you know? Also, since I cannot personally look at the car myself, its tedious.

One guy had a 1973 Caprice Estate wagon on Craigslist that I was super interested in, but he decided not to sell it. I have a 1972 Caprice Estate wagon that I am/was restoring, but I think with the engine issue, its more than I want to tackle, so I am looking for another early 1970s stationwagon.

Thanks for any help/information.

Family Classic Cars is located in San Juan Capistrano down in South Orange County. This is a reputable group that also sells new Toyota's and Honda's in the area. It is a bit south of LA though, but it is the only one I am familiar with.

Thanks for the link, but my, those cars are well out of my price range.

I am looking for big unrestored cars of the 50s and 70s in the under $3000 range.

Oppps, sorry. I didn't even bother to look at prices. I just knew they sold classics there.

Best of luck!

If it's still there, there was one on Santa Monica just past Westwood Blvd on the north side of the street.

There's a magazine called Auto Trader that lists these kinds of cars, too. I also remember a place on Ventura Blvd, but those cars may already be restored, too. A junk yard is probably a good place as well. Not every car is trashed. Especially the ones they just got.

Yeah, BH is right... I am just looking for a "decent" example of one of these wagons. Since cars in S. CA do not rust as bad as many other areas of the country, there seem to be more around.

I am looking for one of these to be exact....

Thanks again for the tips!
