Effective since Jan. 1st, 2008 CA min. wage is $8 per hour.

If you are single and rent your own place you would need to work 120 hours a week to make it in California. In the Phoenix area you could work 50 hours a week and make it on $8.00 an hour. The minimum wage is lower in Arizona but to show you the problem with the minimum wage laws, in many fast food places in the Phoenix area they pay $8.00 an hour to start, because they can't find the people to fill the jobs. I think people should prove there worth and employers would be entuced to pay an individual what they are really worth. Some will make less, but many will make more.
