I forgot to mention good vietnamese food in the area. Our favoriote is Pho 79 in Alhambra on Garfield just south of Main Street. My wife and kids love the different noodle soups but I usually go for the curry chicken with french bread. Timelesschild it sounds like your in the area and it's definetly one to check out.

Can you tell me more about the "lunch specials"? I would love to know more about this - is it for dinner too, or just lunch?
For most of the lunch special places we go to it is just a mid-day thing. The menu usually changes and becomes a little fancier and more expensive for dinner. My mother-in-law calls this meal "sik fan" or "eat rice" (my apologies for any Cantonese speakers but that's how it sounds to my tone deaf ear). At some of the fancier places you would actually have to ask for rice at dinner because that's not typically part of that meal.

LOL RPEP09,

Which part of Texas did you have to move to? I lived in Houston for about 2 years and once my schooling was done, OUTTA THERE!

For Pho, I like Golden Phoenix and Vietnam House both on Las Tunas Dr. in SG. The owners are related. Sister owns Golden Phoenix and brother owns Vietnam House. Vietnam House also has great 7 Course Beef.

I would assume Houston would have good Pho and boba as their is a good Vietnamese and Chinese community there. Maybe you need to ask around.

Yeap. Golden Deli or Golden Phoenix. The 7-11 burned down at the end of the shopping center.
