Oh my gosh, people are just people. No matter where you go. Just be yourself, you will find people to hang out with. You'll see.
[This granny advice was brought to you by timelesschild.] But it IS true, even if it does sound like a granny said it.
Have fun!

I'm sure you did. People love to talk that stuff. You can prove those silly talkers wrong by enjoying your time in LA.

The problem with making a generalization about an entire group of people is that some things will be true and some things will be false and you won't know which is which until you actually get out and meet some of them.

I think you should check your sources before making any rash judgements. Who did you hear this from? Someone you know personally? Or from only one person who posted here on this site and now you are taking their jaded comment and running with it. Just like when CES said in another one of your threads something about people being snobby. Next thing, you start a thread on "Are LA People Snobby? I have heard this".
How old are you? 15? 18?

Women of LA are like women anywhere. Treat us with respect and we'll let you down easy, approach like "yo baby", we'll roll our eyes and walk away. If you don't want a gold digger, don't flash or try to be a "baller". Drive a nice car, not too flashy.

The best way to decide if you want to move somewhere is to actually GO there for a visit. Spend some time in Los Angeles -- and not just at the tourist spots. Visit some ethnic neighborhoods, go to some of the locations you've asked about, check out the malls, look at apartments.
Meet some people.
THEN, if you like it, you can make plans to move. If not, then you can look elsewhere.
