gypsy, does it generally take a while to get a job through one of these temp agencies? again, thanks for all the info.

This is pretty much how I live. I'm a single student on fellowship so I probably have fewer expenses than most people, but I pay $1150/ mo for a studio in the Miracle Mile area (which I love so far!), utilities included. Considering you have money saved up, you'll already have leg up compared to how I started off. Good luck!

I got pretty lucky with them when I first got here, but I had done pr for the studios while in Miami, so I already had a little experience. Just apply to all of the studio temp agencies, and make sure to check in once a week. Also, be friendly - if they like you, and you work hard at your assignments, you will get more opportunities.
