Happ, statistically, you're right... And in October a few years ago, it rained on my birthday two years in a row! I couldn't believe it. On one occasion, I even saw a double rainbow! (I once told someone a long time ago that it never started raining until December or January, and it poured on Halloween that year! I've learned to never say "never" when it comes to weather!)

Mattias, don't get me wrong. I know how much Southern California needs rain, and I am grateful. Because I'm a So-Cal native, I love any kind of weather at all! However, people really do forget how to drive when it's wet! The plants survive because they've adapted to this environment. Everything dries out and becomes brown in the summer, but if a little rain comes along everything becomes green again! It's beautiful in the hills around here at those times.

I just read on OWSweather.com (i know they arent professional but they are usually right) that Oct. is shaping up to be wetter than normal because the high pressure ridge that usually dominates the west during this time and also causes santa ana's will be replaced by a strong trough or area of low pressure that will bring pineapple express storms towards California for the month. BTW Pineapple express means moisture tapped into from hawaii.

Yeah, and it is staying hot if you live inland. Quite a range of temps today due to persistent low fog at the beach w/ temps around 70F while over the hills its in the 90's w/ excellent visibility. For those looking for cool conditions the beach areas are perfect. Once I was biking in Redondo when low fog so dense you can only see 10 feet in front of you moved onshore [biking at incredible speeds along the strand - foolish but exhilarating

Inland it looks like hot weather next week [sure hope the rain materializes next weekend - it would be wonderful.
