Default The typical rent for 3 bedrooms/2 baths/1 garage in Hawthorne and Torrance

When renting, how do i know if the rent is reasonable or not? Does anyone know a good website that let me checks what were the rent history of the place or the rent of the surrounding area?

For torrance, my relative is thinking of North Torrance(not too bad, but not the best part).

In hawthorne, she found a place for 3 bedroom,2 baths, 1 garage for 1,450 dollars. Is this reasonable?

For that price, you'll probably get shot.

then how much should the rent be for a safe area. I don't think she will get shot. It is not Compton or Watts or Inglewood. Though Hawthorne is not a desirable place, it is not a gang infested city.
