I'm moving to L.A. from the East Coast and I'm looking for a job right now.
I know the best way to get a job is, if you have connections. I'm wondering, if someone out there can help me out? I'm looking for a
Administrative Assistant / Secretary position. Thanks

The best way to get a job is to be where you are trying to get a job first, then start looking. The type of position you seek is available all the time. If you have the skills required for being an Admin Asst. and have a few years of experience, then I would recommend going to a temp agency and try a few companies out while you look. Pay is good considering you would be temping - around $20/hr. Where you will look will be based on where you end up living - as has been said in many previous threads of a similar nature.

Companies will not consider out of the area people for this kind of work - that only happens for high profile positions that they are having a hard time finding the right candidate for locally.

I agree with the last post. Admin assistant jobs are usually plentiful, and it's best to already live where you are seeking work and to be available immediately. Go the temp agency route first. If you're good and likable the company you are temping for often will hire you permanently or keep you long-term as a temp. The last two assistants I had came from temp agencies, and I eventually hired them both.
