Cyn...did you move or are you still in the Valley of the damned?

I know what you mean. I moved from L.A. to Boston last fall where 45 during the day is equal to 65 in L.A. People talk about the weather here as much as they do in L.A. It's in the low 70's here right now but I love it when there is a real change in the weather having grown up where the weather seldom changes.

I'm with you cyn. Loving life in Boston! A month after I had moved back to Oak Park three years ago is when it seemed like the whole Valley was on fire! Remember that? I think it was Sept or Oct? A great way to be welcomed home.

While I lived in CA, which was my entire life up until 2 years ago, I lived through 3 major forest fires all within a couple of blocks of my homes--in different areas of CA. That is my reason for reminding everyone of the fire season and dangers!

Yep, sure do! The skies were red and orange--very weird--and so smokey! It felt like all of CA was on fire! Very scary!!

Speaking of fire danger, I woke up this morning smelling smoke in my apartment. No, it didn't come from inside my apartment; it turns out that there was a 500-acre fire in Little Tujunga Canyon, near Sunland, at 2:00 a.m. today. Thankfully, there's no wind, or that could have gotten out of control in no time! I don't think that area has burned in a long time, maybe not since 1975.

That's what I am talking about. The Wildlife Waystation is up there too--how scary and sad. It has been years since that area burned--also Big Tujunga Cyn. A lot of dry brush up there!

It was chilly again this morning [50's] but the weather will warm up quickly since the wind is shifting to the NE ['santa ana] & could be near 90F later this week. The worry is fire danger so be careful.

Update on that fire: Apparently it has burned 750 acres and is only 5% contained. Firefighters are trying to get a handle on it before the Santa Ana winds kick up tonight.
