That's how we found our place; it was way cheaper and nicer than anything we saw on Craigslist. We tried making appointments for the first couple days, then the last day we just drove around and called the phone numbers listed on "For Rent" signs.
If you're going to be walking around, though, it might be more difficult, since you can't cover as much ground.

Oh i didn't mean walk as in..on foot hahaha. I'm going to take my car with me. I made that mistake this summer thinking i could rely on the transit systems to get me everywhere..which it did and it wasn't that bad at all..unless you needed to be somewhere at a certain time..not so reliable lol.
