I'm with ya! Even though TN isn't nearly as cold as Conn., I know where you are coming from. I walk my dog at 5:30am with shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops on.... what do I see? People wearing hoodies, ski jackets, and beanies...

West Coast Californians could not survive the east coast horrible winters.

Also I was watching TV and saw one of those California "find yourself here" commercial well I saw like three of them. Not that I follow these commercials but Arnold Schwarzenegger and some other people were skiing in the mountains but they were wearing light sweaters. Does that mean that it is not so cold in the mountains. Also if I were to go to Santa Monica in January can I go out to the beach? My Aunt said she goes to the beach in the winter.

You can go to the beach, but the water is cold.

Are you going to be there in January? Which week? I'm going to be in LA from the evening of the 19th to mid-day on the 21st, and I will defintiely be going to Santa Monica. We could have a meet-n-greet if you're there too.

There was a saying at one time that if in southern calif during the winter months you could go sking up at Mt Baldy in the morning and then go swimming down at Santa Monica beach in the afternoon. Nothing like sitting in a lawn chair getting a suntan while having a cold drink and looking up at the snow on the foothill mountains.

Sounds cool can't wait to go. So when I go I will take my coat that I bought this season from New York but I will never wear it right? I am pretty sure when I am in Burbank in January I won't be freezing cold like I will be here in January. So guys how is the weather right now in Santa Monica, Burbank, and Montebello?

It's been nice. Today was in the 70's & warmer weather will happen next week. There is an arctic air mass that some weather models move into California in another week. This could be some very cold temps at night.

Speaking of cold, something from my past comes to mind:

Back in the Winter of '77, a horrible blizzard had slammed the Northeast, just shut everything down. People were dying trying to get home from work or get to the store for supplies, people were being trapped inside their homes (and vice-versa) because of massive drifts..... it was a disaster.

And right in the middle of all that, there I am, in Capistrano Beach, sitting on the beach at Hole in the Fence, at night, wearing just my shorts, drinking wine and smoking dope around a bonfire with a bunch of friends, and I'm sweating because the night was so warm and we had that fire going.....

Yeah, I was living in the right place. No doubt about it.

Hey Fontucky that must have been awesome to be in a laid back place at a horrible time. I am pretty sure there will be storms this year and snow. The snow is coming even if it takes as long as February like last year. I hate the snow so much little kids love it buck damn it is so annoying. I mean you would want to go out when it snows but sometimes the streets are so filled that you have to jump or lift yourself high just to get over the snow.

My uncle told me the weather is nice these days. I am pretty sure that if I am here in New York and take the flight to Burbank and get off I will fell so much better. Even if you Californians say it will be cold like I said a million times Californians definition of cold is a nice day to me.
