Pico Rivera?
My uncle lives in Bell I was there the August that just passed. I heard of a place called Pico Rivera I drove by it once. Is it a bad area? I am not moving there but I want to know about this neighborhood.
Is it really dangerous?

I wouldn't choose Pico Rivera. Not as "dangerous", but still not great. If you're heading that direction you may want to look at Whittier instead, which is on the other side of the 605.

Ditto what bhcompy said. Pico Rivera is a little run down, but, it isn't really dangerous.

It's just your average working-class Hispanic neighborhood.
It's characterized by vast swaths of single family homes, failing schools, a noteworthy gang element, heaps of carnicerias/taquerias/burger joints and a little bit of grit.
Aesthetics-wise, most of PR is dated; the bulk of the storefronts are from the 60s/70s/80s. It can be quite ugly.

Agree with others on Pico Rivera. You really don't hear of much in the way of problems [ie. crimes\ gangs] but that doesn't mean it is a desirable area. There's plenty of far worst neighborhoods but Pico Rivera definitely needs a face lift. How about Montebello? It is an improvement over Pico Rivera.

no, not at all. the ghetto is anything off alvarado. seriously check out alvarado and 8th for true grit and grime. or 111th and compton. thats the hood.
PR is not like those areas in the least.
why you worried about an area being getto? you gunna live there?

No, Pico Rivera is not a ghetto It is a working-class heavily Latino community with Little League baseball\ park festivals\ somewhat quiet area. Look up crime stats & you will see that Pico Rivera isn't considered a "bad" area. Moving to Pico Rivera should not be a major issue w/ many quiet tree-lined streets & "ranchero" music in the air
