I've heard this saying many times and for the most part its true. However, I don't think this is the case. If the original poster is like me, they just want to find out before wasting the time and energy to go there and maybe just curious. I asked this same question on the Albuquerque Forum because I wanted to see if it would be worth my time to stand in line for as long as an hour or sit in the drive thru forever. The reason for the slowness if we just got two JITB locations here and apparently ABQ had them at one point but it's the first time in 18 years to have one HERE. On opening day there was a line of people standing out in blinding sunshine with temps in the 90's that was wrapped around the bldg. The drive thru was at least 30 cars deep and had stretched out to a major thoroughfare, thus making it almost impossible to escape if you weren't going there.
It's still pretty bad and I have yet to go there because I hate crowds.

So let's be a wee bit more gentle, eh?

Jack in the box has gotten pretty nasty.

What sort of "stuff" do they put in those 99 cent tacos? I've had them before, but its like night and day between theirs and a taco bell taco. Looks like a bunch of mashed up "stuff", and they put a 99 cent label on it

Their curly fries are good. Maybe the best alternative fries among the fast food places.

-Burger King, McDonalds are just nasty compared to in n out. The buns that in n out uses are probably fresher than all of the buns mcdonalds uses put together.

-The thing with in n out. They arent the absolute greatest burgers on earth. But next to McDonalds, Burger King, Carls Jr, they look like they're in a league of their own. Thats why they have such a cult following. And at very reasonable prices.

With all this talk of 99 cent tacos you shouldn't forget the many amazing taco carts around LA which are open at all hours. Sure they are more than 2 tacos for 99 cents but you wont find better tacos anywhere.

No, they put a 99 cent label on two of them. The whole idea behind those JitB tacos is their inherent nastiness, and the fact they haven't changed in well over 30 years... maybe even over 40 years. I recently had some after a 10 year moratorium on eating them, and they were just as I remembered. Slimy mystery "meat", weird taco shell with the orange grease stains, shredded lettuce, slice 'o cheeze, and the taco sauce... nothing has changed.

I loved every bite and went back the next night for 4 more.

I love Jack in the Box! His head is on my car antenna. lol. They used to have a Oriental Chicken or Oriental Beef and Rice bowl that I love, love, LOVED! But they discontiued it. I also love their onion rings. The best part for me about Jack in the Box is that many of them are 24 hour.

Ok. Tacos are still 2 for 99 cents. I'll post an update in 7 days, or issue a special advisory should they raise the price.
