That guy paying 850 is probably under rent control or just kinda lucky. Burbank and Glendale are surprisingly cheap compared to other parts of the county.

Before you know it you owe a few thousand on credit cards that just never seem to get paid down.
Actually, I have zero credit card debt and have never once paid interest. I pay my credit cards in full each month, if I even use them at all. I have a pretty good savings that's slowly, but steadily increasing each month. And no, I'm not getting bankrolled from my parents or whatever. Yes I'm in studio and paying $850/month, but when I was looking, there were also places out there for $825, $775 (Silver Lake of all places, right on Sunset). Why can't you just accept the fact that I'm doing what everyone here says is "impossible" and that I'm not totally miserable here?

You are a genius! Take a good stare in the mirror and repeat, "I am the greatest man in the world." The horses are so tall.

Hey JC, are you spying on me?

I'm convinced that life is what you preceive it to be. The grass will always be greener on the other side if you imagine it so. I live in Buffalo NY currently and I am one of the top salesman in the company I work for. I manage to sell over 3/4 of a million dollars of residential remodeling a year in a region which sees little growth, even in good times. If you are assertive, positive, and aspire to acheive goals you can make it anywhere. I plan on moving to L.A. because frankly, your down economy is better then Buffalo's will ever be. I'm sure I could triple my wages there with the same effort I put forth here.

I think too many of the complainers are people who aren't familiar with places like Buffalo. I left L.A. not that long ago but I wouldn't mind moving back at all, L.A. does have its problems (some severe) but has many good aspects which one may take for granted until one leaves.
