EL Coyote was the last place Sharon Tate ate, and it's a shame that it's being used as a protest site.

The thing is, really, we try and teach our kids the importance of voting and having our voice heard.
When an official is elected, they say "the people have spoken"
However, once elected, if the majority of voters disagree with them, they "lack vision."
I do not lack vision.
People cannot simply revive topics when they lose; especially when the people do not want them revived.
Put down your protest signs and pay your taxes.
Stop your whining. Teach your children well. The people have spoken.

See that is the problem. You believe that it isn't a choice and I say it is. What people can't choose is the color of their skin, if they are a man or a woman, if they are short or tall, what color your eyes are, or the natural color of your hair. What you can choose to do is how you want to act in life, treat others, give in to base desires. Your saying that people are born a certain way. I am saying that is not the case. If we are all children of a God and that God left instructions for us to follow then my point of view wins. If God does not exist then your point of view wins. Guess the idea is to determine if their is a God.

I am sick and tired of people saying that being gay is a choice. Did anyone who is heterosexual choose to be that way? No, right? We just were, without giving it a thought. Exactly. The same thing is true of homosexuals. They never had a choice to make; that's just who they are. Unless any of you heterosexuals can truly claim that you woke up one day and made a conscious choice to be that way, stop claiming that homosexuals did the same thing in their sexual orientation.
This has nothing to do with God. Men wrote the Bible; God didn't. And if you take the Bible literally, then I suppose you believe that slavery is still a good idea, right?

remember the medical community is just practicing and changes what they believe all the time. You always have a choice. Is that like saying that the child molestors don't have a choice either? How about other sexual deviants?

I'm a straight woman, and I find people with attitudes such as Kid Quake's to be quite disturbing. Here's an exercise, Kid. Imagine for a moment that you are heterosexual (you'd argue that you were born to be that way, right?), and you live in a culture in which 93% of the population is gay. Let's say that this majority votes to illegalize heterosexual marriage. Would you feel upset about this and act out, or would you quit whining because the "majority had spoken"? Wouldn't it be worse if the people who voted to abolish your rights--who don't understand you at all--told you that it was your choice because you were free to marry someone of the same sex, wouldn't you find that to be insult on top of injury? Think about it. I mean, REALLY think about how you would feel. Why are the majority of people so unwilling to imagine what life is like for others, and act in good conscience? Why do people act to deny people equal rights, especially when they are ignorant of what the realities are for these people who are our brothers and sisters? Why do Christians, particularly, judge others with a voting ballot despite that their "savior" considers such judgment to be sin?
I don't know what it's like to be a lesbian. I don't want to have a significant and romantic relationship with a woman, but how egocentric that would be of me to translate my differences into a denial of someone else's basic civil liberties simply because they are different from me, and because I don't completely understand them. Shame on the non- self-reflective cowards in this country (and in this forum) who are unable to step outside of their own majority, yet LIMITED experience, to protect ALL Americans' basic rights under the constitution of the United States of America.
