Los Angeles Movies
Since I have been in LA I have enjoyed watching movies set in LA. They have new relevance for me now that I live and work on location (so to speak).
I would love to hear what movies you think tell the truth about Los Angeles. I just saw What Just Happened (Levinson) and it seemed to ring true (in my novice LA perspective).
Movies about LA, set in LA or ones in which the town plays a distinctive role, would be of interest. Hell, I would love to watch this stuff with others of similar inclination should interest be aroused.

There is a movie coming out early next year called The Soloist - set in LA, based on a true story - it looks fantastic and with a lot of very familiar scenery. Here is the trailer: The Soloist | Official Movie Site and Trailer | March 13, 2009

If you use the search button, I started a thread like this awhile back. There were a ton of movies listed on there.

Heat and Collateral are both Michael Mann movies where LA features heavily
Gone in 60 Seconds(1974) features the LA area(Long Beach mainly) and it's kind of cool watching the car chase drive through your neighborhood(as it was nearly 35 years ago at least).
