Default Where to live near Commerce,CA

I will be moving to LA area for work. Office is located at the border of South LA/Commerce at Sheila St, Commerce. I would like to find a good safe area to live (hopefully) within 30-45 minutes away, which has good schools. I am looking to rent an apartment. Please suggest cities that fit the criteria.

Look into Whittier or Downey.

Not a lot of great areas immediately around Commerce. The best options will be locations close to the 710 fwy. Not as many options for communities off of the 5 fwy.

The best areas for your commute and the other things mentioned will be either South Pasadena(best option of all for the schools plus safe neighborhood), maybe Alhambra. The other options would be parts of Downey, parts of Montebello, the Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach(also a good area for schools) or possibly Lakewood.
